We collect your name, email address, and the scholarship and essay information you enter into the app. We also collect usage data (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. We do not collect payment card information directly — that is handled by Stripe.
We use your data to provide the app's features (quest tracking, essay scoring, daily quests), send you transactional emails (welcome, trial ending, parent invites), and improve the product. We do not sell your data to third parties.
When you use the Essay Forge, your essay content and scholarship prompt are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate feedback and suggestions. This content is not stored by Anthropic beyond the request. We store your essay content in our database to power the Answer Vault and version history features.
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on AWS infrastructure in the US. We use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
If you invite a parent using an invite code, they get access to your scholarship progress and essays, and can move quests on your board. Nobody sees your account unless you share a code with them, and you can remove access anytime.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. Deletion is permanent. We may retain anonymized aggregate data (e.g., 'X students applied for Y scholarships') for product analytics.
We use cookies to maintain your login session. We use PostHog for product analytics, which may set its own cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some app features will not work.
For any privacy questions, email us at hello@scholarshipally.com. We respond within 2 business days.
